Petersburg history:

Petersburg has been known as Little Norway because of the many scandinavian people in this area. It was named for Peter Buschmann, an immigrant from Norway who built a home in the late 1800s and then a cannery, sawmill and a dock. Petersburg was incorporated in 1910.
