Hokes Bluff Historical Events
2002, JanuaryScott J.Alford Built a small House in 1942 about 200 yards east off Maine Street, latter became Third Street. In 1944, he built a grist mill and ground corn meal until his death in 1957. His wife, Amanda (Chapman) Alford, lived there until her death in 1995 at the age of 93. The old house still stands today, but is in bad condition and needs to be torn away.
