Locust Fork history:

General Andrew Jackson named this area Locust Fork. The Hanby family from Virginia opened an inn. Gabriel Hanby was the first citizen to represent Blount County in the Alabama State Legislature. Locust Fork was incorporated January 18, 1977. The first mayor was F. M. Wilder.
