Just like in the home town paper, your local news items can be published., But, this publication will go around the world. Tell everyone about Kari's great report card, or Kent's latest discovery. How about your vacation, or how your child's baseball team is doing. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa on the other side of the country would like to know how everyone is doing in Green Forest.

Green Forest, Arkansas Community News

I am looking for any information on a saddle maker that lived in the Green Forest, AR area.
Currently, I am rebuilding a saddle made by a saddle maker that was located in Green Forest between 1920 and 1930. The maker was W.E. Lamb. I have been unable to find any information on the history of Lamb's business during his era of saddle making.
W.E. Lamb was a well established saddle maker and listed in the book of Old Saddles and Spurs and their maker's marks. Other than that, very little else is known of this individual builder and his history.
HISTORY:
I found an old saddle by Lamb in a antique store in Victorville, CA. The rear seat cantle was split open and the entire saddle tree exposed to the elements of weather for many years. Apparently someone had used the saddle as a fence hanger decoration. The leather was petrified due to its years of exposure to weather. The saddle tree is an old Miles City Tree (Montana), according to Superior Saddle Tree Co., Grand Junction, CO. They reconditioned the bars and recovered the tree.
It took me a great deal of work finding the maker's mark, W.E. Lamb. I finally located it on the saddle's fenders after a careful washing of all parts. I am interested in any photographs or relatives that may be available for information.
I would appreciate any information you can provide about the individual maker or his family members (names, phone numbers, address,' etc.) that may still reside in Green Forest. I would love to contact anyone that can supply any further information about the original saddle builder W.E.Lamb, either by phone, e-mail, or whatever.
