10 August 2016 - Man shoots two officers, killing one. Billy Monroe Jones shot and killed Sebastian County Deputy Bill Cooper after
the deputy and Hackett City Police Chief, Darrell Spells, responded to a 911 call from the shooters father. Chief Spells was slightly injured
from a bullet that grazed his head. The shooter had some kind of altercation with his Father early in the morning, the father is the one that
called 911. The two officers went to the shooters home some time later, at which time the shootings took place. The shooter was taken into custody
hours later. The shooter, after the initial shootings, barricaded him self in his house and shot a police dog, damaged a surveillance robot and shot at
some of the police cars. Why the shooter took the actions he did is not clear at this time, and is under investigation.
