Judsonia, Arkansas - Cub Scout Pack 159
Judsonia Pack 159 was reborn in September 1995, with five(5) first graders known as Tiger Cubs. In three(3) years, we have increased the number of registered boys to thirty-six(36) in the Cub Scouts. Our charter is owned by the United Methodist Church. We also helped the Boy Scout Troop 159 get started in 1997. Currently there are thirteen(13) boys registered in the Troop.
Selling candy bars and popcorn is the primary source of fund raising in BSA(Boy Scouts of America). The money raised from these sales help pay for: craft supplies, achievements, awards, patches, various camps during the summer at Camp Nile Montgomery, etc. Pack 159 had top sales in the candy bar fund raiser two years in a row,1997-98. We were top in our district(White River) and in our council(Quapaw Area Council). In 1998 we sold 6000 candy bars--thanks to our wonderful community.
We meet once a week during the school year and have one activity a month during the summer to earn our National Summertime Award. The weekly meeting are held at the Community Building across from the Baptist Church. We will have a sign-up night at the Elementary cafeteria in August or September for any boy ages 6-10 or grades 1st-5th.
Anyone interested in becoming involved with Scouting, as a scout or as a leader(we are always looking for leaders), can contact Lyle or Melinda King at (501)-729-4192
