KEY TO THE CITY - USA City Directory Top USA City Resource Guide
Jack Benny day was held in 1966 to honor the star mostly because of the long-running gag he used in his radio and television programs. The announcer, Mel Blanc, acting as a train announcer, would call out, Train leaving on Track Five for Anaheim, Azusa and Cu-ca-monga. The announcement would always get a laugh so they left it in. There was a parade this day and gold keys to the cities were presented from the three cities in the announcement. Jack Benny died in 1974 and in the Los Angeles Times, the headline read, Last call for Anaheim, Azusa and Cucamonga.
