Bell Gardens is on the site of part of the old Rancho San Antonio, a Spanish land grant of 1810. The original adobe house still stands and is a local attraction. The city began to grow during the 1930's. The city grew from the next-door city of Bell, from which its name, Bell Gardens, was coined. Bellflower
