Isleton history:

Isleton was founded in 1874 by Josiah Pool. Isleton, being on the Sacramento River, benefited from the gold fever with many new residents and business coming from the gold-hunters. The town swelled in population and business only to shrink down again to its present small size once the prospectors left the area.
