Hueneme Harbor Days, Inc (NPO)
location: Hueneme Beach, Ventura Road South to Surfside Drive
It will be the honor of the Port Hueneme Community to honor Richard Bard and descendents in the upcoming, October 5th and 6th 2002, annual Harbor Days Parade and Beach Festival.
Richard Bard, is considered the "Father of the Harbor of Port Hueneme", deepest commercial seaport between Los Angeles and San Francisco. His father, Thomas Bard was the founder of the City of Port Hueneme in the 19th century.
The Hueneme Harbor Days Parade and Festival was first begun 48 years ago, to commemorate the Port of Hueneme and as a fund raiser for the Richard Bard (Bubbling Springs) Park and Beltway in central Port Hueneme. Volunteers have kept this event running for nearly 50 years and invite vactioners, history buffs, tourists, lighthouse enthusiasts (Yes Port Hueneme has a lighthouse too! It was originally founded in 1874), sun-lovers, and, in general anyone who enjoys beach parties, entertainment, beer & wine gardens, kite demonstrations, car shows (put on by the Ventura County Special Olympics), food, and parades!

Mariachi Program Fundraiser
held in December each year.
Oxnard Union High School District Mariachi Program Presents the Annual Fiesta Navidad.
This is an annual fundraiser for the mariachi programs at the Oxnard Union High School District and Haycox Elementary. There are over 100 performers who bring the Mexican culture alive with music, dancing and fun!
