Historical House at 227 10th Street
Our family has owned the old white house on 10th Street for a very long time...it's located near the corner of Electric and Main. I've recently discovered some interesting historical facts about the house. Before the house was built, it was first used by the Pony Express and then was a stagecoach stop. When it was first built, it was known as the "Procter House"...owned by an early Edison Co. employee, Mr. Procter. There's even a book written which refers to that house titled "The Last Coin" by James Blaylock -- referring to the time when the Seal Beach pier was destroyed. There's a photograph of the house in the little "caboose museum" in Seal Beach.

Seal Beach celebrated its 75th anniversary in October, 1990

This page is for perpetual written accounts of historical events that have occurred in the city. Anyone who feels they have pertinent information may submit it. This includes all people in or out of Seal Beach and could involve any interested adults or children with events or items that are of interest. Items of interest may include noteworthy events, special events of historical importance, information about area growth that pertains to the history of the city, and other pertinent notes. We hope to establish a large data base of information about the history of each city. Historical Societies are encouraged to open their own page on Key to the City for more extensive historical information.
