2008 Summer visit to Colorado Springs......World's Largest Hercules Beetle
AUGUST 2008 We visited Colorado Springs on a rainy day. The skies were beautiful with rays of sunshine coming through The pictures are of outlying areas as well as downtown Colorado Springs
August 2008	As we left the Springs,we saw some nice views of the hills. Unfortunately, because of the clouds, we never saw "the Mountain" while we were there.
This is a sample picture of a Hercules Beetle from pet_insects. They said the beetles can be even bigger than this one at times! The beetles are naturally from South America	World's Largest Hercules Beetle About 9 miles west of Colorado Springs at Rock Creek Canyon Road & Highway 115. The beetle indicates the turn off to the May Museum. This insect was built in 1958 and weighs about 400 lbs. It is about 9 feet high, 17 feet long and 6 feet wide.
