Trinidad School District #1 is located in the scenic area between Pueblo, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico. District Number One has three (3) elementary schools, one junior high school, and one high school. The total population of Trinidad is approximately 10,000 with a student enrollment in excess of 1,500. Financed by a combination of state funds and local taxes, based on the School Finance Act, theTrinidad School District #1 employs 130 certified staff and 71 classified staff .
The school District was organized in 1866 and represents the oldest district in the State of Colorado. The School District is governed by a five member Board of Education who employs a Chief Executive Officer (Superintendent of Schools) who delegates the daily administrative operations of the School District.
