Frequently Asked Questions

- What is the purpose of a City-Page Section?
City-Page Sections contain information about specific themes for a
particular City-Page. I.E. history, government etc.

- How do I add, delete or modify information for a Section?
The space identified as a 'simple text editor' is used to add, delete and edit information.
To provide additional flexibility for 'page presentation' six special codes are available:
     -- <br>  is a code to force a line break(new paragraph).
-- <hr>  inserts a horizontal line in the text.
-- <b>text</b>  makes the 'text' bold.
-- <h3>text</h3>  makes the 'text' larger and bold for a heading.
     -- text  makes a subscript.
     -- text  makes a superscript.

- When using the Text Editor is it OK to use the keyboard 'Enter' key to start a new paragraph?
-- Yes, but a corresponding break code must also be placed next to the same spot for the
new paragraph to show up on the Website City-Page Section.

- Why is the 'line break' code needed if the 'keyboard Enter' key is used to create a line break?
-- Although the 'Enter Key' creates a line break in the text editor, it is ignored when the
City-Page Section is displayed on the web page. It's a general
        characteristic of the Website.

- Does the Text Editor use 'word wrapping'?
-- Yes, and so does the City-Page Section. This means you do not have to try to fit the
text in each paragraph a certain way. When you want to start a new paragraph
use the <br> code, already mentioned..

- Do I have to use the City-Page Section Text Editor for all of my editing.
No, you can copy and paste the text between the City-Page Section Text Editor
and any other simple text editor you have access to(like microsoft Notepad).
However, it isn't recommended at first because the City-Page Section Text
Editor is quite simple with regard to formating features so you will need to
experiment some to know the limitations of the City-Page Section Text Editor.

- Where can I find examples of a City-Page Section.
-- Below this Frequently Asked Questions page are examples.

- What are the four empty form fields above for?
     - The Contributer Name field is a 'required' field only if you want credit for the contribution.

City-Page Section Examples

This example shows how to use the line break code to start a new paragraph. Notice how this paragraph takes advantage of 'word wrapping'. Also notice that there is no paragraph indent. Thats because our web pages don't have a way of easily displaying tabs or multiple blanks. It's time to start a new paragraph.<br>Notice that the new paragraph starts on the very next line. Since indenting isn't available it probably would be best to use two line break codes instead of one. Like this.<br><br>Now it's clear that a new paragraph has started.
