History & History Related Items Bostwick history: Bostwick was named for John Bostwick, a Georgia State Representative. Bostwick was a large force in helping to develop the community. He built a cotton gin and also helped to bring the railroad that ran from Bostwick to Apalachee and Monroe. Bostwick attractions: Bostwick, Georgia provides the best of both worlds. Just fifty miles from Atlanta, an easy drive can get you to whatever night spot or urban convenience you desire. However, if you like extremely close-knit neighbors, quaint believable churches and lazy days spent gardening, pet-watching, etc., we're the place for you. The most ideal place to raise children I've ever seen with the award-winning Morgan County school system nearby. Remember our "big" parade and festival held on the first Saturday of each November.
