Cumming Historical Events
2004
Cumming, GA, Forsyth County, is the home town of the famous, laughable country bumpkin, Jr. Samples, who was one of the main characters on the TV Show, Hee Haw, until his death more than 20 years ago. This is the same city/county that hosted what is believed to be the FIRST National TV remote by talk-show host, Ophra Winfrey, calling to attention the efforts of Atlanta Civil Rights Advocate, Rev. Hosah Williams, to establish the rights for any nationality to march or parade in the local streets. He did so by leading his followers from Atlanta, bussed into the county for that purpose, circa 1988. Full documentation of the latter is available in any national media publication archives or TV networks.
