Kingsland Historical Events

2001, December 7
Jacqueline Branch-Pobanz and Bruce Pobanz, while representing the City of Kingsland, Georgia, became the first ever "Married Couple" to carry the Olympic Flame together as a team.

Jacqueline and Bruce were honored by the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympic Committee as one of USA's "Most Inspirational Couples" and made history when they were chosen as the only "Married Couple" from the State of Georgia to be members of the USA 2002 Winter Olympic Torch Relay Team.
