History & History Related Items
Soon after the Fifth Land Lottery of 1827, settlers came to the area. Gerrard M. Veal received the land that would become Senoia. In 1854, the first settlement was called Willow Dell just a few miles from the present day town of Senoia. When two railroads came through, many of the residents of Willow Dell moved to where the rail lines were located. Soon a post office was opened and the community was named Senoia. More information plus some nice pictures may be found at this website. The page also lists four versions of how Senoia was named.
