Veal received the land that would become Senoia. In 1854, the first settlement was called Willow Dell just a few miles from the present day town of Senoia. When two railroads came through, many of the residents of Willow Dell moved to where the rail lines were located. Soon a post office was opened and the community was named Senoia.
