Audubon is the birthplace of C.W. McCall (Bill Fries) who had several hit records in the 1970's, the biggest of which was "Convoy". He later went on to be the mayor of Ouray, Colorado.

Audubon is also the birthplace of Mary Arnold-Miller who was a member of Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. She later married country singer Roger Miller.
