Belmond Historical Events

1966, October 14
Devastating Tornadoes
One of the largest tornadoes in history devastated Belmond on October 14 1966. The tornado stuck in the afternoon while most children were still in school. It killed four people and destroyed most of the town. I remember the date well as it was the day before my fourth birthday.
