The 1999 softball team just competed in the state tourney & placed 4th....We were conference, regional, & district champs!



1997
Earlham, Iowa High School Girls Softball Team
The Earlham High School girls softball team last season was the best ever. They are proud to be the 1997 Rolling Hills Conference Champs and the district champs as well. The members on this team include the following: Jenni Waldron (shortstop), Heidi Hatfield (catcher), Jessica McNair (1st base), Kelly McCracken (2nd base), Ami Studt (left field), Megan Beaman (pitcher ), Stacy Lister (center field), Amber Roberts (3rd base), and Annie Beaman (right field).
The Cards not only had an outstanding season overall (15-1 in conference, 41-7 overall), but individuals with outstanding seasons were also recognized. Megan Beaman was honored with 1st team all conference pitcher, 1st team all district pitcher, 1st team all state pitcher, and 4th team elite. These are some of the highest honors ever given to an athlete at Earlham. Heidi Hatfield received 1st team all conference and district as well. Jenni Waldron was also honored with first team all conference and 2nd team all district honors. Jessica McNair received a 2nd team all conference standing, while Kelly McCracken was an honorable mention for an all- conference selection. Annie Beaman (an 8th grader) was the youngest player to ever receive all conference honors, and she too was honorable mention.
This team broke many records, including wins in a season (41), runs in a season (277), hits in a season (334), doubles in a season (49), triples in a season (18), and best fielding percent (96.5%).
