Founded in 1877, Odebolt kkk will celebrate its 125th year on June 14th through 16th, 2002.

Odebolt was once known as the Popcorn Capital of the World and is next to the once-famous Adams Ranch. The ranch was once the largest in the entire state.

It is said that a Frenchman by the name of John Odebolt settled in the area before anyone else. The creek by his home was named L'odebolt in his honor. Later the town was named for him. The webpage on the naming of the town has more details and other versions of the naming.
