Yale is near Springbrook State Park and Panorama Lake Resort Community. Yale has a local saddle club that hosts several fun shows each summer in the outdoor arena and sponsors a 2 day trail ride annually, the first weekend of August.

Yale is a stop on the mid Iowa bike trail and boasts a homestyle cafe, Just Ethel's, and Smith's Auto Shop.
