Land Area: 1,106 square miles
Location:
Jefferson County is in eastern Idaho. Surrounding Counties are: Butte to the west, Clark to the North, Fremont to the Northeast, Madison to the east, Bonneville to the southeast and Bingham to the south.
History:
Established February 18, 1913 with its county seat at Rigby. The county
was named for Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States. The first
settlers were Mormons who constructed irrigation systems.
