Algonquin Hills is a subdivision of the Village of Algonquin. I believe it was one of the first "subdivisions" as we know them. It originally consisted mainly of summer cottages for people who lived in Chicago.
Algonquin was once "THE resort" for the City. The area has a rich history. For instance, did you know that the man who developed the "Pinkertons" later to become the Secret Service was from Algonquin?
Our subdivision lies along the river and we have many residents who enjoy water related activities.
