Canton Historical Events General history
For many years the International Harvester plant was one of the most important employers in the area. (It has since been torn down) The TP&W railroad was one of the contributing factors in the development of this town, as it was one of the older towns without a waterway.

The 2000-2001 basketball team is known as the E-Free Ballers The Coach is Denny Brown. The team captain is Brian Miller. The team is currently 2-0 and have games every Monday. Player of the week from week.com is Steve Munter. Chris Piper has the highest percentage of
three point shots. Nick Kapala is the summer league dunk champ, winning with a 360 degree tomahawk jam.
