Geneseo history:

The first settlers of the area came from Bergen and Geneseo in upper New York State. The name is an Indian word meaning Pleasant Valley. The original town was recorded on 12 July 1838.

This home was built in 1855 by George Richard. The addition came in 1867 after the Wilson Brothers bought the home. It became the museum in 1997.
