The Odell Public Library opened in 1879 when John Danforth Odell gave a $1000 donation to the Morrison Literature and Scientific Association to start a library. In 1887 Mr Odell purchased the Congregational Church which he gifted to the city for a library building. This building served the community until November 1995 when the new library was completed. The library is a member of theRiver Bend Library System
