Tilden is a small community of singles, married people, families and senior citizens. Every June, there is a Tilden Picnic. This has taken place for the last 100 + years. People who have left the area return and visit with everyone. There is a carnival with rides, a Queen contest, a princess contest, a prince contest, raffle drawings, games and plenty of good food. There is entertainment. The event lasts for 2 days. All of the proceed go to the Tilden Lion's Club to help the community.
Tilden has a small community interest article in The Sparta News Plaindealer. It's a local paper that comes out of Wednesday of every week. The article contains school news, local news, and old time news
about who visits who and who does what. The Tilden News is written by Peggy Lato, of Tilden.
The people of Tilden are friendly and good natured people. They are a mix of interests. For the most part everyone wants what's good for the community.
