Henry Bacon
designer of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, was born November 28, 1866 in Watseka IL. He was a noted "Beaux-Arts" architect who also contributed to the design of the Rhode Island State House. Among other projects, Bacon also designed the Court of the Four Seasons for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco, and the World War I Memorial at Yale University.
