History & History Related Items Decker history: Because of its location on the C&E.I. Railroad line and its closeness to the White River, Decker enjoyed prosperity in the late 1800's. It had fertile soil all around the town enabling the residents to grow many fruits and vegetables. The town has about 400 residents during this time period. Over the years, many have moved away. There are now less than 300 people in town. The trains no longer stop and trucks take away the produce.
