In 1856, a group came here to buy land from Shawnee Chief Paschal Fish to establish a community. A small group of German settlers arrived in February 1857. In the fall of 1858, Eudora was incorporated under the territorial law, and named Eduora for Chief Fish's daughter.

Parents as Teachers is a FREE and voluntary early childhood parent
education program through the Eudora School District. PAT is for all
families with children from birth to age 3. PAT
provides home visits, family gatherings and play groups, developmental
screenings and a resource network to other Douglas County programs.
Enrollment in Eudora Parents as Teachers is open to EVERY family in the
