Hanover history:

Hanover, Kansas is home of the Hollenberg Ranch Pony Express Station, a trading post erected in 1857 by Gerat Hollenberg to serve immigrant wagons and stagecoaches along the Oregon Trail. Between April 1860 and October 1861, Hollenberg Station served as a relay station for Pony Express riders who carried the mail from St. Joseph, Mo. and Sacramento, Ca. The original building still stands as a Kansas State Historical Site and visitor's center.
