History & History Related Items

Miltonvale was named for a local landowner, Milton Tootle. He came here in 1881 from St. Joseph, Missouri. When Highway 24 came through the town, a number of businesses also came.

A former college campus is now used for the high school. The closing of the college caused a decrease in population and in the number of businesses, but the community has continued to maintain.
