The Original Buffalo Bill was actually named William Mathewson. The Indians knew him as "Sinpah Zilbah" ("The Long-bearded dangerous white man"). See this monument of his gravesite. Please call for hours and details.

This hotel was first opened on January 1, 1887 with the name of the "Carey House." It was here that Carrie Nation, the famous prohibitionist, smashed the hotel bar on December 27, 1900. The hotel's name was changed to the Eaton in 1910. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
