M.C. Jones, Artist
At this time this is a little known gentleman that resides in the city of Gilliam that has contributed greatly to southern black history by way of his folk art.
This gentleman's name is M.C. Jones (aka 5-cent). The majority of Mr. Jones' art work is sold by the local merchants in their stores to tourist and out of town visitors. There has been an occasion when Mr. Jones was invited to participate with his art work in the annual Red River Rebel festival that is held in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Jones' has been equated with other well known southern folk artist such as the late Ms. Clementine Hunter.
