How about your vacation, or how your child's baseball team is doing. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa on the other side of the country would like to know how everyone is doing in Vidalia.


My father, William Charles Hodge, better know as Bill, grew up with his family in Vidalia, Louisiana. He lived on Lake St. John as a boy, until his father Harry Frank Hodge died in 1924. He moved to Vidalia with his mother, Betty, Sister, Mary, and brothers. Harry and Ben. I wish I could find information on his uncle, Dr. Pete Magoun. He looked after the kids after their father died. He was a doctor in Vidalia and surrounding areas. He had a brother named Nolen. Lucy Dickson Magoun was married to Dr. Magoun. The father of Harry Frank Hodge was from Cornwall, England. When they came to the United States they settled in Ilinois. Later the family moved south to Louisiana. Please let me know if any information is available about him or possibly a photo. Seems every time I get to town, the courthouse is closed. My father passed away several years ago and I am an only child , so my family history is very important to me.
