History & History Related Items Quincy history: Quincy, Massachusetts is the only city in the US to provide two presidents: John Adams and John Quincy Adams. Quincy, (pronounced "quin-zee") is often called the City of Presidents. The second and sixth U.S. presidents, John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams, were both born here. The two birthplace homes are the oldest presidential birthplaces in the country. The United First Parish Church, built in 1828, is also the burial place of both Adams presidents and their wives.
