Beltsville is the home of the National Agricultural Research Center of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. This 8,000- acre installation performs valuable research for world agriculture. Some very important things have been achieved at the center. One of the most famous is the Beltsville White Turkey. The aerosol spray can was invented at Beltsville. The center also contains the National Agricultural Library which is one of three national libraries, and contains the largest collection of agricultural material in the world. Scientists and scholars from all over the world come to Beltsville to learn American Agriculture.
