Easton history: Early names for Easton were Talbot Court House and Talbot Town. It wasn't until 1788 that the town was renamed Easton. The town is the location for the Episcopal Diocese of Easton and is sometimes known as "Cathedral Town." The first newspaper on the eastern shore was published in Easton.
