Pittsfield history:

Pittsfield was originally named and incorporated as Sebasticook Plantation in 1815. It was re-incorporated as Warsaw in 1819 and then finally as Pittsfield in 1824 in honor of William Pitts of Boston. He was the town's largest landowner.
