Sept 2000CROP Walk
After many years of increasingly successful CROP Walks, the Dearborn/Dearborn Heights (DDH) CROP walk committe has raised over $ 400,000 for hunger relief. This year's goal will bring them even higher. The outstanding generosity of the DDH community has not only made it one of the highest CROP fund raisers in the state, but has it ranked 32nd nationally. Money raised by the CROP Walk goes for local, national and international hunger relief. The funds are used to support several local food pantries and soup kitchens. Internationally, food, seeds and farm implements are provided as well as disaster relief.
In preparation for this falls Dearborn / Dearborn Heights CROP Walk against hunger, a Recruitment Rally took place on Thursday, August 24th at 7:30 in the evening at St.Paul Lutheran Church, 21915 Beech Street, Dearborn. Any churches and civic groups still interested in participating in the October 1st CROP Walk, should contact Vickey Wong at 562-0687 or Betty McCarthy at 563-4549.
