Lewiston is often referred to as "Timber Town" because many loggers in its history.

the home of "Tally's" the best burger in the north. And "Bobs Corner" the best pizza and ice cream for miles. It is also the home of "Garland Resort" (It is a Golf Course - X-Country sking too.) Also the best builder in town is Keith Shumaker - MY DAD!! He is in the local phone book, if you need any of his many services, he does it all!

Before it's motto of Timbertown was used, Lewiston had another nickname. It was known as "Fun Country, U.S.A." The change to Timbertown came during the Bicentennial celebration when the logging history was featured.
