My paternal great grandfather, Louis Hagerman, was born in Minnesota in the 1830's, his wife Catherine Larabel was born in Michigan. Their first daughter was born in Hanover, Minnesota in 1861. That is according to the Monroe county, Michigan 1870 census. They had three sons born in Newport, Michigan, in 1864, 1866 and 1868. My paternal grandfather was born in 1868, according to the 1870 census in Monroe county, Michigan.
My paternal grandfather was elected sheriff of Monroe county, about 100 years ago (about 1903). My father was born in 1913. I was born in 1952.
