White Cloud history:

White Cloud, Michigan, has long had the motto "Where the North Begins and the Pure Waters Flow". For at least seventy-five years, but probably more, a large billboard welcomed travelers with those words.
The town was named after Chief White Cloud, whose headquarters were just near the northwest edge of Benton Lake, several townships away from his namesake village.
