Late 1800's to 1990
In the late 1800's or early 1900's, the Lloyd family was located in Carterville Missouri. One of the sons, Howard Elwood Lloyd, married Kerdelia Selena Byrnes from Arkansas. They settled in Carterville and raised a family of seven children. Kerdelia's mother, Eliza Rebecca Byrnes was buried in the Carterville cemetery in the 1940's. Eliza was the mother of Marie Shackleford, widow of Ed Shackleford. They were the owners of the Mansion at the east end of main and pine street. It is a very large three story home that took up one square city block with Old English iron fencing and gates all the way around it. In the late 1980's or early 1990's, someone purchased the property to make an Adult Foster Care Home.
