Return to Index History & History Related Items O'Fallon history: In 1854, Arnold Krekel, a local landowner, judge and politician, deeded land he owned, in what would become the center of town, to the North Missouri Railroad. It was named the Krekel Addition. He also gave permission for a depot to be built there. In 1856, once the depot was built, he named it O'Fallon Station for his friend, John O'Fallon. The first home here was built by Krekel's brother, Nicholas, in 1856. Later, in 1860, the Krekel Addition was also named O'Fallon. The city was incorporated in 1912.
