Pass Christian is one of the oldest of the coastal sister cities and lays claim to having had the first Mississippi lighthouse, which was built in 1831 and dismantled in 1882.

The Pass Christian Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in Mississippi. It was first built in 1831. The lighthouse was dismantled in 1882 and moved to another location.
