Great Animal Adventures Children's Museum

An 1888 stables building houses this museum which also has veterinary implements on display. PLease call ahead for hours of operation. Vicksburg National Military Park was established on February 21, 1899, to commemorate one of the most decisive battles of the Civil War, the campaign, siege and defense of Vicksburg.

Cedar Grove Inn is a magnificent 1840 Greek Revival Mansion overlooking the Mississippi River on four acres with formal gardens, gazebos, fountains and courtyards which are a prelude to the mansion furnished with many original antiques, including gas-lit chandeliers. A union cannonball is still lodged in the parlor wall.
Tours are given every day continually from 9-4 except at noon. Please call ahead for admission costs and any changes in hours of operation.

Virginia State Memorial
just outside of the Vicksburg National Military Park on the southeast corner of the North Frontage Road and Iowa Avenue. A bronze plaque on a granite pedestal tells of the Botetourt Artillery. It was added on 23 November 1907.
