Monroe Middle School

Monroe Middle school is attended by sixth through eighth graders before they move on to Monroe High School. At the current time Monroe Middle is a year-round school. This means that the students go to school for around 9 weeks, then stay at home for about 3 weeks. Formerly, Monroe Middle was a traditional and year-round school at the same time (before this present school year [1997-1998]). When I went to this school, there was an excellent opportunity for every student. This opportunity was that every student had the ability to be in one of the numerous clubs of their choice. These clubs ranged from baseball card collecting to National Junior Honor Society which could only be entered by recommendation. There are numerous teachers, many of whom I didn't know very well. Those that I did know were the computer lab instructor, the principal and assistant principal, librarian, and my own teachers. Sports range from basketball, football, cheerleading, and soccer. Going to Monroe Middle is a great idea, they have chorus, band, and other typical types of classes that most other schools have. I remember that Monroe was very kind to me in the educational sense. I had a lot of support with my education from teachers than any other place. It was a good place to go to school. -from a former student
